Inspired by infatuation for a girl I hardly knew, I created a radio play using Sweet Valley High characters. I wrote it, scored it, built a multi-layered SFX landscape, AND performed all the voices. This was a massive effort. Upon its completion I consulted the Travis Bickle how-to classic “Misguided Romantic Overtures For Dummies: A Practical Handbook for Turning Your Psychotic Delusions Into True Love” — I copied the audio file to a thumb drive, tied it with a red bow and handed it to the girl. I was certain she’d jump for joy and marry me on the spot.
